Ipoh-Cameron Highlands

It was great vacation while taking my companion (EOS-500D) traveled all the way to Ipoh on the 4th day of CNY (年初四) and meet-up friends there for makan-ing and minum-ing (eats & drinks) before we went for a day trip next day in Cameron Highlands for photo shooting. Well, I was lack of sleep but still able to drive for two hours journey in early morning with help from 'Red Bull' energy drink. I spent a day trip in Ipoh with friends and weather is no difference with KL as it was hot and sunny for whole day there (gao miang ~~).

On the next day morning, we started one hour journey to Cameron Highlands after few hours rest. It was raining and windy when we reached the strawberry farm but that refreshing weather didn't last for long and it got warmer (and hotter) in the afternoon. Traffic was bumper to bumper and jam like one kind at certain point
between Brinchang-Tanah Rata town. The traffic could have dragged almost a kilometer long as many cars were going up and down at BOH plantation and stuck at the entrance (WTF !!). We got no choice but drive to the main plant site in Habu town after Tanah Rata. I got to missed that plant site again this time as i never been there before as the mountain view up there is much beautiful than the one in Habu town.

Nevertheless, we just enjoyed what it takes while having tea break at the factory then hiked up to the view point for photo shooting, relaxed and enjoyed the mountain views there. On the way back to Ipoh, we didn't have much time to Cactus Valley but just stopped by at the one of the cactus farm for rest and started 'shooting' again at the cactus one by one... how nice to see so many cactus around me.

I was truly tired but really enjoyed the trip and thankful for my friends bringing me around Ipoh city and tried out the local specialized food/drinks such like Old Town white coffee; 'Ngah Choi Kai'; 'Dim Sum'; noodles and night life spot during my two nights stay in Ipoh. Might be coming back some other times but i think it has to be in next CNY perhaps. More photos will be uploaded in my FB photo album soon...

Getting tired and hot

The days of CNY holiday are seems moving pretty fast since on the eve of CNY. Firstly was begun with family reunion dinner... cousins family gathering... friends visitations... gambling sessions... yum cha session and it's now coming to the 4th day (年初四) of celebration. I'm getting tired and got stiff neck today probably because of sleeping late or lack of sleep, and also consumed water lesser than Carlsberg/Tiger/Heineken (鬼佬凉茶). The bloody weather is also part of the reason, damn hot over last few days. I'm feeling like a 'hotdog' in days and nights, just hot and spicy ~~

Being busy or not during this festival celebration, my camera is a good companion - taking pictures everywhere as i go, taking down the happy moments and laughter. How nice when looking back at the pictures i toke, trying to recall the joyful memories that time...  Well, i don't mean to say i'm a professional but just doing my best, taking best shots i could and share it with friends whenever it's possible.

Leaving KL tomorrow for outstation holidays (Ipoh & Cameron Highlands) and meet-up friends there... will be back in two days !

CNY goodies - camera lens and accessories

That's all my 'CNY 年货' extra goodies bought on last Sunday that included with a prime lens (F1.8 / 50mm) for portrait, indoor and night view shooting; solid tripod (cheap, beautiful, nice);  wireless remote switch and another backup battery. All these stuffs cost me about RM600 and don't think i could get it any lower at anywhere else. I think i got all camera gears that i need for Cameron Highlands & HK-Macau trip later on.  Hopefully this festive season will bring me a wonderful celebration and a good year to come for my careers and personal life.

Broga Hill (士毛山)

It was nice moment climbing up Broga Hil last Sunday with friends while having my newly bought SLR camera for photo shooting up there l. Problem is... we got to leave home at 4.30am early morning (damn early) just 3 hours sleep as we need to be there in time to catch the sunrise view. We reached there about 6am and started hiking all the way up to the peak and that toke about 30mins duration.

Well, there wasn't only one peak up there but three to be exact, one after another and higher. It was getting dawn by the time we reached 2nd peak, but it's just too bad as I couldn't find a good angle for sunrise scene when i reached 3rd peak. I got to turn back alone all the way back to 2nd peak for better location. We just stayed up there for rest and taking group photos before we left for Tekala Waterfall about 30mins drive from Broga Hill. It was a truly fun trip and i enjoyed hill climbing and photo shooting up there. More pictures are on my FB photo album ~~
